Platte Valley Creamery - Scottsbluff

The man at the counter was extremely rude when we arrived, dismissive when we attempted to place our order, and unfortunately didn't have the flavor we wanted from the menu. When we asked about other flavors, he informed us they had 40 different ones available. Feeling unwanted and like a burden to the local business, we decided to leave without ordering. We have no plans to return. It seems like they are the ones missing out, not us.

25 years later, and I have not found ice as well as this place and I have lived throughout the country. I'd go back to Scottsbluff, just for this ice cream.

We were looking for hiking in the Scotts Bluff National Mounment ice cream. I have mint chip waffles cone. Did it love so much!

There will never be anything that can compare with champagne ice cream. Consistency in taste together with hometown comfort makes cream rice the best place to go on any given day. My top 3 are champagne, blue moon and raspberry, but you can never go wrong with a tin roof or even a banana gap.

When I was 15 years old Ron gave me my very FIRST job working at the Creamery. What an amazing experience it was learning how to make the shakes, malts, banana splits getting some strong bicepts scooping out that delicious home made ice cream to all the customers. It was so much fun seeing all the kids come in with their pockets full of change to buy the candy which was in BIG clear containers behind the counter. They would climb up on the front of the counter and have such a hard time deciding which candy they wanted. Those were some good times! It’s been almost ten years since I’ve been able to go back home and visit. I can’t wait to go back and visit next year!
