Eat At Daves - Scottish Borders

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch. The train ticket we had purchased had taken us to Tweedbank, but we quickly reboarded after realizing there were many more options to be had in Galashiels. Dave's was one of the places that popped up after a Google query. Despite having just made it past the lunch rush, the person at the counter was very cordial. We told he that we were celebrating our first anniversary/latermoon and gave us a baked treat and a recommendation for a nearby park whereby to enjoy it. I'd highly recommend Dave's if you are looking for a tasty yet affordable lunch spot.

This small restaurant has a friendly staff and offers good value. The brownie was amazing and the baguette was freshly made. The prices were affordable and they also had a variety of different juices, including American sodas.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Friday and ordered 2 chicken and chips meals, as well as an additional 2 portions of chips to take home. However, upon trying the food, I was disappointed. The portions were small, reminiscent of something you would feed a young child, and the chips were unappetizing. They tasted like reheated leftovers from the night before - chalky, cold, and dry. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

The chips were greasy and tasted like leftover chippy chips that had been reheated. Ordered a large but the chips inside didn't even fill the tub halfway. My mum and brother ordered a chicken and chips each, they got 2 not even full chicken strips and the smallest portion of the same chips, won't be buying from there again.
