Slooooow service. They weren't busy. I ordered fish and chips. It was a single piece of haddock that was covered in Italian bread crumbs and pan fried. Very bland, and definitely not classic fish and chips. The bill for 5 adults who each had a two drinks with no appetizers was over $400. I would never recommend this place to anyone
Summer is waning fast. Friend and I decided to enjoy lunch on the patio overlooking the Mohawk River. As long as you're under cover of an umbrella, it wasn't too hot to eat outside. (Inside only had one window table available hence our sitting outside. Also, inside tables are quite close to each other. I was told that the Waters Edge has been refurbed over the past few years to becoming a lovely place to enjoy dining alfresco. Also of note, a Homewood Suites was built a few years ago to adjoin the restaurant. So many options from appetizers to main dishes. I chose out of the many options, a flatbread pizza a shrimp scampi flatbread no less. Crust was crispy and delicious. A very large shrimp was strategically placed mid slice so you could enjoy a bite of shrimp with each bite you took. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish the pizza and took it home for the next day. (Yes, it reheated beautifully. Friend had a chicken flatbread; was told it was very good too. Because we came for lunch a bit later, we were able to enjoy the patio for a number of hours. Parking was easy enough, staff were attentive, day was delightful.
Went there the other night for an early anniversary dinner and was highly disappointed. My husband and I have been once before for a rehearsal dinner and had a fabulous meal, so we were excited to go back. In those four years, something has gone awry. First, I called ahead of time and asked if there was any difference in the lunch and dinner menu, and was told it was the same menu all day. The server, who was inattentive and not particularly friendly, told us that because we were there between lunch and dinner there were no specials, implying we had chosen a poor time to eat. People were vacuuming and generally acting as if we had come during a bad time. I 'd say just close for a few hours to get yourselves ready for dinner service and not stay open if your service isn 't the same throughout the day. Our starters were pretty good though nothing to write home about. It was the super pricy surf and turf and prime rib that really let us down. The pieces of meat were heavy on the fat cap, which left relatively minimal edible meat. The meat we did have, while under seasoned and in heavy need of the aus jus, was cooked nicely. The sea bass part of the surf and turf was a joke in its size and cook somehow soggy and dry at the same time. The portion was also minuscule for the market price . Essentially, the price of the surf and turf is the cost of two entrees, but neither were entree size portions. The sides were atrocious. We had asked what the vegetable of the day was and told asparagus it was green beans. Our sides the mashed potatoes and the green beans were so overly salted that they were rendered inedible. I 'm sorry to say that we won 't be back anytime soon.
The owner of this restaurant racially discriminated against my daughter. Whether you are passive or blatant, racism is racism. This is despicable and horrific. Do not dine here.
