Mona Pizza - Saumur

Just scrolling down and it seems like quite a lot of people had terrible experiences with very rude service in this restaurant. Please don’t go, and spare yourself rude service and people screaming at you on a beautiful summer day. We went there with our friends and our 2 babies, the waitress was extremely rude from the beginning and was clearly not happy to see us in her restaurant with our babies. She was wearing her mask down on her chin neither covering her mouth nor her nose and asked us very rudely to wear our masks. We said it was absolutely fine and put it on; I asked her politely if she could wear her mask properly too. The chef came in and wasn’t wearing any mask, and was half naked all sweaty and not wearing a tshirt. He looked very agressive. They both asked us to leave the restaurant because «on ne veut pas des gens à problèmes ici » which means « we don’t want people who cause trouble here ». We happily left what looked like a crazy place. We didn’t try the food but there was only one table with customers and the pizza looked super dry. Plus I cant stop picturing that sweaty man cooking my food half naked ! We went back home and had homemade pasta instead ! I have to admit it spoilt my afternoon as I had never been screamed at in a restaurant before in my whole life...but that’s ok.

My husband and I just went there and had a very BAD experience. The place was empty. I wanted one pizza and wine. The woman who I think was the owner , shouted out very loudly and aggressively NO! If we weren’t ordering two pizzas then just leave! Unbelievable!! For some crazy reason I ordered a pizza to go. It was soggy and flavorless.

Good topping however pizza base to thin and not cooked enough, so a very soggy middle, disappointed as pizzas not cheap.

Nice place. Good banter between waitress and chef. (This life if you've seen it). Pizza hanging over the edge of the plate good steaks as well. Will call again.

We came by this pizzeria by chance and, having noticed an Italian-speaking family going in, decided to give it a try. There is a good choice of wines on display with prices very clearly marked and that encouraged us also. The service was very good and the pizza could not have been improved. It had a lovely, thin, crust and fresh, favoursome toppings. What an enjoyable meal!
