Bidrage med feedbackThis place looks astonishing in and out, very nice aesthetic and very good food with quality service. 100% worth the pricing.
Beautiful setting. Overpriced and overrated. Only visited restaurant. Main course was wonderful. Other courses were overcooked or commercial. Wait staff was terrible. Had to flag him down to get drink refills, to order, and all other requests. Recommend visiting the site yet not the restaurant. After commenting on the poor quality of the first courses was told they would removed from charges and was offered a course free of charge. Yet when check was presented charges for unetible courses as well as offered free course were requested. Regret leaving a reasonable tip to terrible waitstaff.
The owners are fickle. The one who is the chef is generally nice enough. The other one is always nasty. Every time anyone calls and he answers, it is unpleasant. Rather notorious in the area for that. So much for community support. As many times as we have eaten there and tipped very generously, now we were rejected for dinner because we are not hotel guests . Even though we called a week in advance. Incredibly inhospitable and rude. Much friendlier places in town with better food and choices. Too bad this beautiful place is owned by such unfriendly people.
This was a collective vote....5 out of 5 stars as an overall rating. First, the grounds are amazing, gorgeous, well maintained, pristine and inviting. The building itself lights up at night and is just beautiful. Inside, is as to be expected for a B&B, looks old worldy but fits the theme perfectly. Beds are a little crickly and floors squeak when you walk but the bed was comfy and showers awesome. A little odd to have a sink right in the room but we got over that quickly. Breakfast was very English , small portions by American standards but delicious. Frest fruit. Juice and tea/coffee along with whatever the chef cooks up for you. Quiche and French toast during our visit, all very good. Dinner deserves its own paragraph because it was phenomenal. We had the white wine, margatini, beet carpaccio, mussels, arugula salad, bisque, scallops (out of this world , chocolate cheesecake and apple tart tin. Simply delicious. Our expectations were high...and they were met with every course. Please book a stay here, it 's romantic, serene, secluded and simply beautiful. The staff are great and super accommodating, special thanks to Shaun for his hospitality and winery recommendations, Cogdal is our favorite. John was great at dinner service and the lady serving breakfast was super attentive. We will be back very soon :
Dinners are always excellent here. It is a beautiful setting with a fascinating history.
