Bidrage med feedbackThe idea for Spider Social Club, a cultural and sporting center, originated in Santiago in the 1960s, specifically in 1965 in response to the needs of Spanish immigrants who had recently arrived. Some were economic migrants, while others were political exiles from the civil war. The club served as a place for these immigrants to share customs, work on projects, and support each other in a foreign land. Originally starting in a small wooden house, the club held many memories and associations from their respective regions such as Valencia, Galicia, and Asturias. As the membership grew, they required more space. By the 1970s, they acquired sports grounds outside the city of Santiago and began to build a larger and more enjoyable experience for visitors.

The Spanish Centre, located in Santiago de los Caballeros, was founded in the 1960s to provide a space for Spanish immigrants to come together, share their customs, and support each other in a foreign land. What started as a small wooden house for meetings and events has now expanded to include sports areas, recreational facilities, and a restaurant with a diverse menu and excellent service. The Centre welcomes not only Spanish members but also members of the Dominican community. The beautiful view of the city, well-maintained green areas, and affordable prices make it a unique and enjoyable place to visit. While membership is required to use the facilities, guests are allowed to accompany members. Overall, a visit to the Spanish Centre would be a delightful experience for anyone looking to enjoy the facilities and services it has to offer.
