L'Etape de Santenay Hotel Cafe Restaurant

Owners excellent there approach to clientele, ambience and quality of food. I was twice recently July when it was extremely hot, the terrace that is on the village square, very busy from 6.30, people waiting for a table, staff extremely busy... but we are still very pleasant. In September the weather changed, so the service was inside, another busy evening as a table emptied it was refilled, the quality of the food was again excellent.

Great location, but helpful. Waited over 30 minutes to place a beverage order, while the staff rushed appreciably uncomfortable by serving their customers. My table remained unclean from the previous diner for the 90 minutes I sat there. Otherwise beautiful atmosphere... in an ideal location, but would recommend trying other cafes first

We left Beaune and drove bicycles to Santenay. That was an ideal lunch break. Saw on the square and enjoyed our surroundings. The staff was muddled with the business, but still very attentive. The food was lunch, but excellent. Very friendly. One of us had a burger. Two had the ham and cheese sandwich. I had fish and chips. I was definitely not ordered. As they did with a burger and ham and cheese, I will never know. The best of all time. She recommended a local wine that was wonderful. Kudos and thanks for making our day happy.

Four of us dropped in on spec for a mid week evening meal. We were seated immediately by courteous and efficient staff, and our subsequent meals were more than adequate although not quite of the high standard of some of the other restaurants in the area. No...complaints at all but ... well, just a bit ordinary by comparison. I'd also mention that I've never before encountered a restaurant where one is charged extra €2 per head to eat outside, but that was the case here if one wanted to dine in Santenay's square.

Accueil très professionnel et courtois.... Chambres bien agencées et ultra modernes. Sanitaires impeccables. En bref un hôtel à retenir, calme et très propre. le restaurant est simple mais bien agréable. Cuisine simple mais de qualité
