Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is a must for me when in San Francisco. I have been frequenting this solid seafood restaurant for over 40 years. It’s a must and normally I get the Dungeness crab cocktail with Louie sauce and the Cioppino. It’s one of the cities best. Great servers, Gus is one of my favorites there.Food: 5/5
It was my family's favorite restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf as I was growing up. It was a special place where we would dress up to celebrate birthdays and graduations. I haven't been back to this restaurant for over 30 years. It has not changed much. Servers still wear black suits. My only disappointment is that I specifically told the server that I didn't want onions, parsley or garnish on or in my food. The server repeated my order and said no onions, parsley or garnishes. When the dishes arrived, they came with either, both or all onions, parsley and garnishes. I was able to scoop the garnishes and onions from the clam chowder and shake off the parsley from the calamari but couldn't do anything with the pasta that was loaded with parsley. My companion said I should tell the waiter since the entree was not cheap. So I flagged the waiter and told him I could not eat the pasta because it had parsley. He read his notes and it says I did not want parsley, onions or garnishes. He said he will ask for a new dish. When he returned, the pasta still had bits of parsley. By then, I just gave up. It was my birthday and my companion was treating me. I did not want to make matters worst for my companion and I did not want to ruin my birthday, so I said nothing. My companion took the pasta home. I just couldn't eat it. To pay almost $200 for lunch (2 persons with no alcohol beverages) that you did not enjoy, definitely does not deserve 5 stars.
Great food. Waiter didn't write down my order so he forgot my beer. No biggie. The clam chowder more than made up for it. Highly recommend this place.Food: 5/5
It's not your typical Wharf location and I never knew it existed despite nearly ten years of living in the Bay Area and visiting the Wharf often, but Scoma's is a great place with good food and an excellent staff. Whether you dine indoors or out, you'll have a great experience away from the main hustle and bustle of the Wharf.
Halibut for my main course I asked what it came with I was told veg I received my halibut on con and courgette tasted terrible but my fish was raw inside I tried to get the attention of the waiters, when I finally managed to get someone's he put his finger up for me to wait! ? never came back to me my husband had finished his, so I never bothered to get their attention agin they took the full Plate of food and never asked why I had not touched it. The waiters are like Robots no eye contact.
