Pure Sushi At Matsuoka - San Diego

Noisy, dirty, soup was lukewarm, took a very long time for food to be delivered. Overall, not a restaurant I would recommend.

Service was painfully show, they were very understaffed

I received an email for the new sushi restaurant and was looking forward to the experience. The location has four different restaurants under one roof. 1.vegan sushi 2. Ramen 3. Sushi 4.a fried chicken menu. When we ordered sushi, our very harried server said it would be at least one hour before our food arrived since there was only one sushi chef. The noise level is deafening so i did not want to linger. My husband ordered chicken katsu and i had the fried chicken fingers with french fries and slaw. The food was good but i came for sushi and got fried chicken. This place is packed and is for a younger crowd. If you enjoy dining out, this is NOT for you.

The sushi was very good and Bentonboxen showed a nice selection of products. But the fact that we don't get our first appetizer sushi for 50 minutes and main bow course for 80 minutes, this means last time we go to Matsuoka. It is basically a 1 man show preparation sushi not only for the Matsuoka section of the restaurant, but also the other sections of the food court (Raki Raki, Yasai, etc. . While I applauded the cook to try to maintain and insist on the highest quality presentation, it is set up for failure in this situation.
