Bidrage med feedbackWas walking around when we spotted this French Vietnamese brunch place. We were excited to try it! When you walk in you're greeted with beautiful decor. We got two Vietnamese coffees which were refreshing. The first one had a bit too much condensed milk and was very sweet but the second one was perfect. The meal comes with complimentary bread and butter. We ordered baguette sticks with pate and hot sauce, which were crispy and gooey inside, a duck rotisserie which was juicy and fall off the bone. The star of the show was the escargot with garlic butter and tomatoes. The tomatoes and garlic were absolutely amazing and we used it as a spread on the bread. Lastly we ordered a pho but it was disappointing broth was very salty and not rich and beefy. Noodles were also not traditional pho noodles and had a strange texture. However overall we had a satisfying meal!
We have driven past this restaurant several times and finally decided to go! So glad we did. It's reminds me of an old New York train station from another era but so much nicer and cleaner with extra high ceilings. This French Vietnamese eatery has many French dishes and a small selection of Pho and desserts. We had the following: Pho Bo which was generous with the beef brisket and noodles. The broth is excellent and flavourful without too many chemical additives. No bean sprouts, lime wedges, basil or hoisin and siracha here. But they do have a pickled spicy garlic sauce that you can buy! Super tasty! We also ordered the terrine which was excellent and their fries are super hot and crispy/crunchy. We didn't have space to try any desserts but we'll be back!
Vietnamese x French fusion is not something I thought I'd ever put together in the same sentence. But Linh Cafe proved otherwise! Located under the Granville St. Bridge on the downtown side, Google Maps WILL try to make you think this beautiful cafe is on the bridge... (tried to make us u turn). The high ceilings and large windows make it feel open, and the style and lights make you feel warm and cozy. We ordered: Steak Tartare Mussels NY Steak Fries Truffle Risotto Halibut Pho The food was incredible and everything with a is highly recommended. Their chilli fish sauce is so good, we tried to take it home LOL (but you can buy it for $30 I think). BUT it's a little pricy. A bowl of pho is $16+ and meat is extra. The whole dinner came to almost $250 after tax before tip. 4/5 would recommend, would return but only if I'm feeling bougie. PSA: the wait is LONG AF unless you make a reservation, but they only accept reservations for 6+, so go with your family or on a triple date. AND they take your credit card as collateral if you don't show up!
Nice restaurant, great ambience, and amazing service! The waitress was super friendly and informative with the items on the menu. We ended up ordering the tuna tartare, frog legs, spicy baguette, and a new blue cocktail that just hit the menu. The tuna tartare was my favorite out of the items, but not far from it would be the frog legs! Lots of flavor and lots of garlic! Bring gum haha! All of the items are a definite must try though!
Visited Linh Cafe at the opening of their new Vancouver House location and wow is it stunning! I never been to their original location, but this one was very spacious with high ceilings and it gave off Parisian vibes. Since it was my bf and I's first time trying French Viet cuisine we ordered some of their popular items to try. Mussels w/ cream white wine, fresh herbs this was so good, a MUST get!! The mussels were plump and sweet and that sauce was everything remember to save some of your complimentary bread to soak up dat sauce! Spicy Baguette Sticks good but nothing memorable. The sauce was also a bit too spicy French Escargot in tomato garlic butter another dish that was just good to try once. Portion was on the smaller side. Pho w/ bone marrow I didn't understand the hype for this. It was priced at a hefty price tag of 25 and tbh it tasted pretty mediocre. Also we thought the bone marrow would come in the bone??? But it came scooped out already. All in all, the ambience and service here is nice but some items were a miss for us. Also the dishes here are pretty
