Jinya ramen is one of the most popular ramen spots in Vancouver. Jinya ramen has a few locations but we went to the downtown location this time. As expected, it was a full-house when we arrived at 6pm on a weekend and despite the fact that it was zero Celsius, they forced us to stand OUTSIDE to wait! I was not about to wait outside for half an hour so we headed back into the mall and waited for their text to let us know our table was ready
This is one of the only place I can have ramen! They have a nice and light broth, not too salty, like other ramen places. And their chef specials/recommended are actually really good; I tried the Sprouting Up Ramen and it was excellent!
Had the vegan ramen and chicken one, they were nice enough to tell us that the sauces had fish oil since we had ordered vegan. The ramen was super tasty, and the service was great. Only thing would be that it was a little cramped as tables were very close together otherwise highly recommend!
The revamped Jinya Ramen Bar is an improvement over their previous establishment. I tried the lobster ramen and it doesn't disappoint. I love eafood and lobster is not exception. The broth for this ramen is packed full of lobster flavour. It's like lobster bisque and ramen married together to form this lobster ramen.<br/ <br/ It's on the pricier side, but given that you get an entire lobster head, I think it's just almost worth it. I was able to order this for $18 because they were doing a promotion.<br/ <br/ This ramen is tasty and recommended for anyone who loves lobster. The noodles are good and compliment the soup well. The wonton that was also in the bowl pretty much gets overshadowed by the broth.<br/ <br/ I'm not sure when I'll come again because there's just so many ramen places in Vancouver to try.
