Bidrage med feedbackNew Years's family meal. The variety of offerings was acceptable but by no means elaborate; some stations namely dim sum were not promptly replenished and on two occasions in the hour we were there, some serving stations were completely empty. Service was efficient in removing empty plates, but not so much in replenishing water and coffee. Alcoholic beverages are outrageously expensive. The 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill and I appreciated our waiter pointing it out at time of payment. The overarching negative is that we chose this location for the views of the water and the North Shore mountains, only to find out at the time of arrival that there is ongoing construction work with scaffolding and tarps completely obstructing the view for most of the table; this fact was of course not advertised anywhere before our arrival and, had we known, we would have selected another venue. Not recommended until the construction has been completed and the views restored.
I stopped in to kill some time waiting for Flyover Canada. I ordered an Americano. It tasted old and burnt. I ordered a blueberry lemon scone and it was flavourless. The only good thing I can say is it has a nice view.
The food was good but nothing special. No beef that I could see. As a couple, we were sat in an area where only one of us could enjoy the jazz but the other couldn't. To many children roaming around. The ambiance is more like any hotel buffet that happens to have some music playing in the background. Not a place for date night. The performers were great but played for about 20 minutes or so then stopped. We left, there was nothing keeping us there. It was quite bright which made the ambiance unwelcoming. It was just average with great service from the two ladies who served us.
The food was great with lots of variety. Nice place and location. Service was very good! People were friendly there. The entree section was awesome (salads, prawns, cheese and cold cuts). Dessert section was great. Overall, a good experience! Some areas for improvement: The hot food section was almost empty at the start of the buffet lineup. The food was not hot, and the seating area was cold, especially near the stage where the performers were. If you improve the hot food section, and make sure the food is hot, then more people will come back again. Repeat customers are important. The music was ok; we couldn't hear all the instruments. Guitar was too loud and piano too low in volume. Sound was not balanced. Perhaps bring in a variety of other singers and musicians. Increase the heat in the dining space. Hot food will become cold very fast. Thank you.
Certain food items needed to be replaced faster than they were in the breakfast section for the Sunday Brunch. More items would be an asset. Outside of this, the food was of good quality and the service was exceptional. Can't wait for the renovations to be completed! Looking forward to the old days of the buffets at the Pan Pacific where there was a much larger variety of food offered.
