Bidrage med feedbackWe stayed only one night, but stayed well impressed. The bedroom was small but had everything you needed was impeccable. Good walk in the shower the towels were hugely fluffy. Appropriate price 75 Euro Rooms Only We were the only ones to eat this night (Friday), but the lady who served the cook has made a Geatjob. Food was amazing, we ate the a la carte all dishes were well presented very tasty. Restaurant had nice decor. Restaurant is closed Sat Sunday. This area of the city looked a little tired running down, but we would use this hotel again if in the area hope it does well.
Good service and above average food, but atmosphere a little sterile. Not exactly cheap, but still good value.
We have been passing this hotel for at least 15 years, for many of these years it remained closed and looked rather sad, a few years ago renovations began, we decided to give it a try yesterday. The renovations have certainly worked, the dining room is nicely furnished, really nicely spaced tables, smart chairs and beautiful cutlery. The rest of the place looks great. Three menus one at 29€ a second bistro, where you can choose two courses for 10€ combination of starter and main or cap or all three for 15€ and of course a la cart, depending on what you eat from each have a good choice of food. We went a la cart, all the courses beautifully presented and delivered by the very pleasant lady who welcomed us warmly and was attentive during our visit. We chose a chicken breast with beet roots and crisp pancakes, really beautiful presentation and tasted as well as tasted, fois gras, Apple confit and toasts. Both at 9€. The main components of the turbot on the butternut sauce with the mushrooms and the steak standard and with Petersnip pepper, are again well cooked and presented. Puddings lime cream on sable biscuit was a good finish. The wine list has a good choice without being massive. All in all a really pleasant meal in beautiful surroundings, this hotel will be on our list to revise.
Happened across this restaurant by chance whilst travelling back to our home in Brittany. Fabulous lunchtime menu my wife started with smoked/marinated haddock with a green lentil salad, whilst I went for the gazpacho with pieces of feta and a rosemary sorbet. We both chose sauted rabbit as our main course and were not disappointed. A piece of saddle and a leg each with a fabulous mushroom sauce, small pieces of bacon, carrots of two types (the surprise being thin slices of deep fried white carrot) and a superb potato puree. We had half a bottle of a good Bordeaux red wine and coffee, and the whole bill was just over 40 euros, which is not bad.
We stumbled upon Le Lion d 'Or when meeting friends there. First, there is a private parking area so you don 't have to find a parking place on the busy streets of St. Hillarie. We were drawn to the lovely, spacious and elegant dining room, but soon realized we were in a bit over our head. The sweet server suggested we could dine in the bistro, a more casual, austere area with a prixe fix menu, and it turned out great! The server was very patient as we attempted to translate the menu. We were a group of 6 and every one of us enjoyed our meals, every course. (My starter of salmon terrine was delicious! The chef used good ingredients and presented the food well. They have a wine of the day and it was very good too. The place is clean and attractive, the people friendly and attentive, a very good find!
