Berghotel Hornberg - Saanenmöser

We got a kick out of the very Swiss way that they synchronized serving and removing the plate covers. I have been to other places in Switzerland that do this. Seems to be kind of a dying art in the US? They had a nice salad bar, and also served a mixed salad that was very good. Our table ordered a variety of plates and shared a bit, and everything was good.

Hornberg is a hotel restaurant which very wells represents the Saanenland spirit. I've never lodged at the hotel, but went several times to the restaurant. The food is quite fresh and well prepared, and the regional cuisine gain a finer touch there. The menu has different options, mostly going though local cuisine or having a local touch. The service is amazing, and all the personnel, from owners to servers, are extremely nice. The terrace offers a peacefull athmosphere and fantastic views on sunny days. Worth the visit.

There is some confusion with the two hotels.One hotel is in Saanenmoeser and one is on top of the Hornberg called Berghotel.The first one is a brilliant hotel cum restaurant with lovely food and great service.Views are to die for.The second is an average hotel with average food and not worth the visit unless you are hiking in the region.

A rainy day in Berner Oberland, a good walk and you reach the very nice place, and have lunch in this very nice restaurant...it compensates for a very rainy day (it happens). They announced a reduced menu which turn out to be about six pages din A 4.... We had an excellent salad, recommended quality, quantity...service, very good !
