Tanaka Japanese - Roswell

My husband and I ordered the combination teriyaki salmon meals, and they were delicious! Mine came with sashimi. The 6 piece sashimi was tasty and fresh. Firm texture and no fishy taste at all! We've been here several times and ordered different items. We've never been disappointed. The hot tea is complementary. The service is great. The food comes out in a timely manner. The price is very reasonable for this area. The restaurant is small, so if you have a large group, call to see if they can accommodate.

Absolute sushi perfection! Tanaka has made me a complete sushi snob. All other sushi is just mid- at best.

Was our first time here and we arrived about 1PM on a Friday. It was quite busy, which is usually a very good sign. We dined in and both ordered a combo box with tempura and choice of roll: I chose the Philadelphia Roll and my wife got the California Roll. Firstly, it took 38 minutes to receive our food after we ordered, which is too long even if it was busy. The server was friendly, however he forgot our drinks and the side of lemon honest mistake and it was busy, afterall. On to the food... salad and miso soup were both fine; typical of what you would expect. The tempura was luke warm and soggy, no crunch at all. The rolls were ok at best. I hate to say it, however I have had better California Rolls from a grocery store. The worst part was the tempura dipping sauce. It tasted like liquid smoke, and heavy liquid smoke at that. This is not at all what it should taste like. Nevertheless, we will not be back.
