Bidrage med feedbackSo my husband and I went to this restaurant for supper this past Saturday. We had been hoping to go on a Thursday or Friday as they had live entertainment on these nights but the Town of Rosemère has put the kibosh on this claiming the bistro does not have a license for live shows. How ridiculous is this when they have been offering these shows for a long time and have had very good client turnouts regularly? In any event, we chose a Saturday. There was hardly anyone in the place. They had curling on the 3 large TV screens but when we asked if they could put on the hockey game, they immediately obliged. We were seated right away by a friendly server and given our menus. My husband ordered a beer and I had a glass of chardonnay. Both were served promptly. We had a few questions about items on the menu, and they were all answered knowledgeably by our server. I settled on the crab cakes (galette de crabe) for a starter and then the mussels marinière which are served with french fries. My husband opted for an item on the à la carte menu, the ribs, which included a chicken pasta soup and coffee. Unfortunately the crab cakes were really sub par. They looked to be machine made (perfect rounds, but very thin) and not hand made. Not particularly crispy either. They were accompanied by a very small salad on the plate which was actually better than the crab cakes. The mussels on the other hand were VERY good, as were their french fries. Having been here once before to see the live show and having just a drink, I had seen their selection of mussels on the blackboard and knew before we even arrived this time that I would be ordering them. They did not disappoint, however they would have been better served with a chunk of crunchy baguette to dip in the delicious steaming broth. Unfortunately, the ribs were not very good at all. My husband compared them to the already prepared ones you can buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store. The coleslaw served alongside the ribs and fries was adequate. I would go back to eat at this bistro, and I would probably have a different version of the mussels, but I don't think that the à la carte menu was particularly desirable, or even necessary. With the pasta, pizza and mussel options, there is enough to choose from. I would also like to add that we went there with a coupon and therefore the price for our meals was reasonable, but I don't know that I would pay full price at this establishment. The best part about this restaurant is the service. Pleasant, friendly and accommodating, the servers were a pleasure to deal with!
The food at this neighbourhood restaurant was pretty good. We were two couples and we all ordered from their pizza menu. Their thin crust pizza was delicious and they offer a good variety. We went on a Friday night and they have live entertainment that made the evening that much better. We will be going back.
Great little restaurant, service is very good, owner very friendly and the pasta are delicious. I recommended the place, will go again.
My family was visiting from out of town and I had been meaning to try Joya Bistro having driven by it so many times. The restaurant has a funky feel to it with a weird mix of trendy restaurant/sports bar décore. Unfortunately the food was really average....nothing special about it at all...just o.k. It wasn't bad just nothing to write home about and considering all the other really good restaurants in the area I would eat here again.
Everything was great! The service was exceptional, the waitresses were attentive. The food was really good, I really loved the BamBam shrimp and they're pizza taste really good and the dough was thin. I finished my meal with a phenomenal desert. I really liked my experience at Joya Bistro!
