Legacy by Giovanni's - Rockford

Rockford FINALLY has a fine dining restaurant!!!! Before Legacy, my wife and I would drive to the Chicago suburbs or Madison. The food I might add is absolutely AMAZING and if you're lucky enough to ask for a table waited on by Angel, he will NOT disappoint!!!!

Pretty nice atmosphere. Drinks were good although a bit overpriced. Oyster Rockerfeller were delicious. Steaks were tender but felt that since they are not serviced on hot platters, they went from perfect temperature to barely warm very quick. Key lime pie tasted more like a cheesecake than a key lime pie. Service was VERY good though. Biggest dissapointment was the lack of ANY dress code. I understand Rockford is more of a casual area but when you are out at what is supposed to be a nice restaurant and you see people in shorts, baseball caps and slider sandals it kind of kills the experience one might expect for a special occasion out when they are going to spend $300.00 on a meal experience. I think if I went back I'd probably just sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers, not in shorts and sandals though.

Service was excellent. Food delicious. Best steak of anywhere in Rockford.

Just a great Place! Enjoyed the cocktails, the food, service, and free cocktail to kick the night off. Just a great night!
