Bidrage med feedbackThe burgers are good! Go try one! It's in the middle of no where but it's a cool place!
This was such a cool stop on my road trip. When I went in it was late hours but I hope to drive by again very soon to check out the food. I did love all the crazy soda flavors
We stopped for breakfast and were delighted with the quality of the eclectic decor. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I have mixed emotions about the menu. Although it was easy to read, there was no description of what was being served on with each selection. Thankfully, the waitress was happy to explain each one we were interested in selecting. The food was Excellent!!!!
I just can't explain how on earth it's taken so long for us to try Derailed Diner, but the important thing is, we finally gave it a try. It was amazing! First off, I love the atmosphere. There's old peddle cars hanging from the ceiling, toys and collectibles all over the walls and ceiling, and they aren't caked with dust. There were a couple of bar tables along the wall set up like truck beds, with stools in front of them. Our table was a shadowbox filled with Navy memorabilia, which we loved because my hubby served in the Navy. My seat was a bench, but my hubby got Cadillac seats out of a car as his seat. We were both comfy. The food is sure to please as well. The menu has a good variety. They have salads and stuff like that, but, of course, I ordered the chicken fried steak. That thing was as big as my plate! It came topped with white country gravy, which also topped the mashed potatoes I had as one of my sides. It was real white gravy with pepper, not that stuff from a jar. I also had some greens and crispy fried okra. My hubs ordered a burger and it looked fantastic. We both enjoyed our entrees immensely. We started the meal off with mozzarella sticks, which were every bit as cheesy and delicious as the ones from our local pizza joint that makes theirs homemade. The marinara sauce was on par with it too. We finished our meal with one of the Top 100 Foods To Eat in Alabama Before You Die, according to Alabama Tourism, the pecan pie cheesecake. Y'ALL!!!! It's indescribable! Think about the best pecan pie your mama, grandma, aunt, ever baked, and put it smack dab in the middle of a slice of rich, creamy cheesecake. It's definitely one of the best things you'll ever taste! Order it, even if you're stuffed, and take it home with you. You don't want to miss out on it. The service was good and our waiter was very personable. We enjoyed chatting with a couple of truck drivers seated at the table next to us. It's a casual, relaxed and pleasant environment. As I also mentioned above, it's clean. The prices are very inexpensive considering portion sizes and quality. We drove from Daphne to eat there and I can say with 100% certainty that we will go back!
This diner is in the back of Oasis gas station. Not gas station food! The theme is travel. It's like stepping back in time to see all the whimsical items that take you back to the 60's and 70's. Menu is limited diner food but very good. Prices are very reasonable. Very cool place! Dseats are car seats or a couple airline seats. Some tables are truck tailgates.
