Thai Monkey - Roanoke

The food was great! The service was not. When my husband and I were there, they had 5 tables. The waiter arranged us to sit on a corner table that it didn't have a light, it was pretty dark. We asked if we could sit on one of the available 4 chair tables and he said oh, that is only for 4 guests usually I would understand this situation if they were very busy and there were no available tables. But what he said was not true. Four of five table guests sit on four chairs tables! And he just let us sit on two chairs in a dark area. During the service period this waiter was not worried to check us. I had to get up to help myself. I don't want to see a restaurant serving good food, but not a good waiter. Your food quality was great! After trying three Thai restaurants in this area, it tastes much better than the others. But they flew over our food at night.

Every time I come here, I'm always able to go very quickly, whether I'm in or just for a quick exit. I usually want to get the pineapple ride as take-out, but decided to dive during the weekend. Staff are friendly and consistent working during their shift. Services are fast, but not rushed. You can be pretty busy during peak hours. Tigers cry as an appetizer and crab rice as a main dish. A bit hard to find the parking lot when it's your first time. You're just looking for the Thai monkey with stars, you won?t miss it.

Very attentive and friendly staff. Always get our food pretty fast. Absolute love that Thai monkey offers vegan options. I have salad rolls without shrimp and you can add tofu if you want. Also the vegetables got red curry without fish sauce with mild spices. I used to get her middle spices and it was quite spicy, so if you didn't like spicy I would go with mild instead of medium.

The first time, it was ok, presentation was good, but food was not impressive, not the worst, but certainly not the best. Vegetables in my drunk noodle was hard to cut even with a fork. Peanut sauce for the spring rolls I didn't like at all. The woman said her salad was fine, but then it's very hard to screw a salad again. Not the worst yet, but I don't think we'll be back.

This place is a hidden gem. Their food is amazingly flavorful. They tend to be a bit on the spicy side some times but I love it. We got the drunken noodles with the seafood mix and it had penalty of seafood and also got the red curry with chicken and white rice. We were licking our plates lol. For desert we go the sticky rice with mango it was delicious, although we had better before. Definitely would recommend trying this place. Sorry no food pictures will add next time we order.
