Bidrage med feedbackThis neighborhood sushi spot is my favorite. It's a no-frills, cozy, and very Japanese feeling kind of restaurant, so anyone after quality rolls is sure to be satisfied. While I wouldn't recommend a long taxi ride to enjoy this place, it's great for anyone in the Leblon neighborhood and is casual and good enough to enjoy a few times a week. I typically order the tuna nigiri along with the tuna temaki. You won't find creative rolls here, but the basics are fully covered. They also have hot ones like the crunchy salmon Philadelphia roll; but that's about as creative as it gets. Go with a friend, order some sake (or a capisake) and sit outdoors or inside the (air-conditioned) petite restaurant.
Monica S. is right on with her description of Deusimar as a neighborhood sushi spot. On our walk home from the grocery store we stopped for dinner outside. A family of three along with a mother and her two toddlers joined us throughout the evening while delivery guys hung out nearby. (Delivery seemed to be very popular. There wasn't a long list of crazy rolls with wasabi mayo, strawberry or jalapeno...just fish and rice. We had egg rolls with shrimp and catupiry as an app and split the combinado for one, which included 15 pieces of sashimi and 10 pieces of nigiri. Combined with a beer and a vodka lychee (which they served with sugar packets so you can control the amount of sweetness , we left feeling satisfied. Service was steady-paced, prices reasonable and the food comforting and simple. Also, did you know that a 10% service fee will be added to your check at restaurants? Therefore no other tip is expected unless the service went above expectations.
