The Shoestring Cafe - Richmond

The Shoestring Cafe, at first thought, one would think it serves simple cafe style dish. Saw some pictures and read some views, it was not so simple at all. When I arrived, it was a small place, so reservation should be a must. The decor had this mystery vibe to it. I was super impressed with the plating, it looks high class. The food was delicious, I loved the pork. Portions are a good size as well. Would totally recommend if you have not been here.

WOW. That's the only way I can describe this place. The name is totally misleading. You would think it is a café amidst all the businesses in the area. Wendy the server was so friendly and explained every option available. The best part is all food is prepared fresh and nothing is pre made. Once done that's it. I certainly recommend it not only for the service but for the food, the presentation and the flavors. 100% a must try.

Chef Ed and Wendy along with their team just finished catering my wife's 50th birthday party for 80 guests in our backyard. He definitely creates dishes that are delicious and unique. They were professional, efficient and extremely organized. The Shoestring Cafe took our event to the next level our guests raved about the amazing !! Thank you so much for making our event so unforgettable

I have just finished my Christmas Eve dinner with my family and I have very poor experience with the cook or the waitress tonight despite the fact I have patronized this café several time. We have a group of 5 people starting at 6 pm, and 4 of us received the dinners at around 6:30 pm but I received my Chicken spaghetti at 7 pm when my 4 family members almost finished their meal. How do you feel? It is bad management. Either the cook is too busy or the order was missed. But it is not acceptable when everyone has their meals and left alone one member of the group was sitting there waiting! I told them we came here to eat not just for food but also for the services. If there is no service, I will not come back. Therefore I give them 2 stars since they claimed they have only one cook tonight, tonight is Christmas Eve!!

We came to try the Dine Out Menu at this restaurant. There were three of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be returning to sample the regular menu.
