Flame Smith - Prince Edward

Came here for dinner after our elopement ceremony, two members in our party were incredibly late and the staff didn’t mind. We did the multi course preplanned meal and everything was so good. I’m vegetarian as is my new husband and we loved all of the food we were able to eat, a mushroom main was also provided. For a party of 9 we didn’t feel rushed between courses and even after the meal. Beverages were excellent and and everybody was full by the end.

First of all, the chef was immaculate. The sourdough bread was heavenly. We ordered the lamb, salad and escargot. All which you can taste the freshness of the ingredients and detailed effort of the chef. Our waitress was a pleasure. She was in-tuned, attentive and all around delight.The one star is a reflection of the host. Upon arrival, he tried to sit my partners and I at the bar claiming there was no space in the main dining room. We were clearly dressed for a nice evening out and it was obvious were visitors of the county. When I declined and asked for other options, we were ostracized to the empty dining space to the right. From my sit I watched many groups of 3, 6 and 2 get seated in the main dining room and he hung up their coats. We had to hang up our coats ourselves. He even gave me one of those tight lip fake smiles when I was walking from the bathroom.Yes we are melanated. Yes it is black history month. And Yes we felt dismissed. It upset my partner so much it almost ruined our night out. If there were other quality eating options in the area at that time of night we would have left.

Amazing food! We had the lamb shank and the steak and both meals were amazing!There’s also a “chefs choice” 4 course meal for $85 which is pretty reasonable for a restaurant of this

We talked about coming here many times. We had heard it was good. Finally made it and so much better than good !! The ambiance, the service, the food ……. Being an ex-restauranteur, you get what you pay for. Might be a little pricier than some, but worth every penny !

Last week was my second visit to this restaurant and again I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was the average with annoying loud music and only a few guests.The waitress was ok.The food was average for the price we paid. The Waldorf salad was not Waldorf salad at all. It was wrongly named.The fish had no a side dish or sauce.We didn’t try desserts but given the other’s experience we didn’t miss a lot.Too pricey for the average food.I was reading the high rated reviews and believe that most of guests do not cook and do not eat well home.Total bill for 4 people: $650. Really ???
