Deep Blue At Mother Kelly's (paulsgrove)

This was my first visit to the restaurant based on a recommendation. I ordered the regular fish and chips with peas and curry for about £16 (after a discount code was applied). Initially, I thought the price was high for fish and chips. When my meal arrived, I was disappointed by the size of the fish portion. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the fish was chunky, flakey, and delicious. Overall, I was impressed despite my initial disappointment. I'm not sure if this restaurant will become my go-to spot for fish and chips in the area, but I may consider ordering two fish next time.

We ordered takeout tonight and realized after getting home that some items were missing. The price of £1.99 for a small side of peas was exorbitant for the portion size. The chips, supposedly a large portion, were meager, and the cod was overcooked. The chicken burger was thin, overcooked, tough, and inedible. We have been loyal customers for years, both dining in and taking away, choosing this restaurant over others. Unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly. We will not be returning.

I recently tried a large battered sausage for takeaway at this restaurant. I was surprised to find that it was £1.19 more expensive than my usual spot. The taste was pretty disgusting and the batter had an odd color.

Good quality fish and chips at a reasonable price. We also had the Apple Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding desserts which were also both really nice. The regular fish n chips is a good size for most who don’t want to overdo it.

Fabulous fish and chips. The service was excellent and the place is spotless next time we take the ferry we will definitely go back. Loved it!!
