Madureira's Campo Alegre - Porto

We found this restaurant via TripAdvisor as it was local to where we were staying and the reviews seemed promising. We got there just got before 7pm and there were already people queuing up waiting for it to open so we were feeling hopeful that we had found somewhere good to go for dinner. The waiter didn't even look at us when we entered just pointed to some tables and said go sit in the corner. He then came over and gave us one menu for the table, didn't speak to us or ask if we wanted any drinks. We sat there for about 10 minutes hoping he would come over as we had some questions about the menu and was hoping to order some drinks! Whilst looking round the restaurant we noticed that they had served all the other occupied tables, with some even having there starters arriving! We waited another 5 minutes and still no waiter had looked in our direction or bothered to come over to see what we wanted to order. We decided to leave as we were starting to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. As a tourist I would NOT recommend this place as there are many other friendlier places nearby that offer similar types of food on their menus.

Situated in a large modern building rather away from other restaurants etc. Large ground floor, with bar area, and two large dining spaces. Pleasant staff. Nice starter, excellent main of deep fried hake with Russian salad. Good pizza too. Huge menu, seemingly nothing they don't provide, not always a good sign, but what we had was perfectably acceptable. However, one nearby customer sent back an undercooked dish. Another had a huge whole fish baked in salt. Looked and assembled impressive. Eclectic wine list, not pricey. Bonus of no background music. Uninspiring, but what we got was fine.

Para quem quer comer a horas tardias este e um bom spot ,comida variada desde grelhados a pizzas a marisco.Hoje experimentei uma espetada de boi estava bastante boa. Staff simpático e atenciosoRestaurante bem agradável.

A great place with very tasty food and fantastic service.

Excelente almoco. Um pouco caro. O bife wellington é muito bom.
