Sushi Village - Portland

I've eaten here twice now. The first time, the food was awful. I decided to give them a second chance, and the food was just as bad the second time around. Overpriced, as well. The spider roll and the monster roll, despite having different ingredients, tastes the same. The mochi was gritty and freezer-burned.Service was alright, but it doesn't make up for the bad food.Skip this place.

Before covid this was the go to spot, when I heard the conveyer was back up we visited last night.Everything looked appetizing, but the ginger was my favorite part, very spicy.I ordered a creamy scallop and it almost hit the mark but the sauce tasted a little on the bland side. Tried the chicken udon, the broth and chicken peices were less than desirable. Broth was not backed by any flavor at all falling flat. The peices of chicken were weird shaped cuts and had no extra flavor to add to the dish.The salmon nigiri tasted very good but a little too much rice left you chewing and losing the flavor of the fish. As well with the other rolls the rice ratio was off.The other restaurant i frequent has excellent service to refill cups and ask If everything is okay even when really busy and this location didn't meet that expectation but that's okay.Probably won't go here again.

Love the sushi conveyor belt. I love sushi in general, but this was a great experience. I came in after work on a Tuesday, sat down and grabbed a plate of sushi off the conveyor belt all in less than a few minutes. I grabbed more plates, finished eating, paid and walked out the door in less than 30 mins. This is great if you want a nice sushi dinner or something quick.

Very good sushi for a very good price! We left with full bellies and good things to say.Food: 5/5

4.5 stars price considered! Really like this place and definitely visit again especially since the prices are so reasonable. We got a combo with two sets of rolls for only $15 and then there's a happy hour for only $2.99 for each plate off of the carousel. I think the in restaurant experience at the bar maybe more fun and interesting. Quality of the food was pretty consistent, not too much rice and the fish tasted pretty fresh.
