Farmers Arms - Portinscale

We had booked a meal this evening at the farmer’s arms, but unfortunately the chef was bad and they had not been able to cancel us and we were unconscious. the barman, tom, was really brilliant. he explained the situation and said he didn't want to disappoint us and offered to cook our meals for us instead of (as before worked as a cook) and we agreed. I have to say that eating was excellent. we are not familiar with the contrary, but I understand that this pub is under new management and if the friendly dedication of customer satisfaction tonight is everything to go past, the future looks bright for the farmer’s arms. many thanks for a pleasant meal and friendly service, especially tom.

Great place for a pint any day of the week from 12 onwards. £2.80 A pint Monday night

Had a meal early in the week and were so impressed we had Sunday lunch 2 days later. Food was superb and delivered to our tables in about 20 mins. Highly recommended.

Great little pub to unwind at after a long walk if you're staying in Portinscale. Food portions are very generous. Loved the very meaty steak pie in particular.

We took a break during our walk between Braithwaite and Keswick and decided to stop here. We enjoyed some time in the beer garden, soaking up the sunshine on our way there, and used the lounge on our way back. The atmosphere was great, and the beer was quite good.
