P'alma Sushi - Ponta Delgada

This is a difficult establishment to review as Palma is a small restaurant with circa 20 covers twice nightly at 7 and 9. It offers a very pleasant ambience with friendly and attentive service. A reservation is essential. A number of families were awaiting outside the restaurant for it to open at 7, which to me was a great sign of things to come. The quality of the sushi is superb and beyond reproach, however, I simply don't believe it offers value for money. We ordered a 32-piece platter which Palma kindly ageed to provide as a salmon and tuna mix at a cost of €43 which seems superb value, but it consisted of 12 sashimi, 8 maki, 8 futamaki and 4 nigiri which were small in portion size. We also ordered 4 salmon rolls with crispy onion (which totally overpowered the salmon) at a cost of €12 which is not value for money. I really don't care what I spend, but I do require value for money, and quality aside, i simply don't believe Palma provides value. Particularly considering what is available elsewhere. Palma is a fusion restaurant and are reinvevting to a certain extent (mot always sucessfully in my mind but thats ok also) and albeit there were families with young children dining here who obviously would disagree with me, having eaten sushi around the world and acknowledging the quality of Palma, I left feeling hungry and simply do not feel i received value for money. So albeit that Palma is very popular, I unfortunately could not recommend it.

Nós já comemos em 2021 quando eles começaram com a retirada, e ficamos encantados. Como já esperávamos, é um sushi de qualidade, enche os olhos e a boca. Equipe super simpática e acolhedora. Ponto positivo: você pode ver o chef preparando as peças Ponto para melhorar: o balcão pode ser menor, ou, estar em vidro, para que possamos obter uma melhor visão sobre o que o chef prepara

Was disappointed after reading the reviews, was okay sushi… not very good value our family of 4 left hungry after a $160 euro dinner, portions are small. We have had a lot of great meals in PDL skip the sushi

A quite small place . Not more that 5 or 6 tables, ont this small central Sushi restaurant in Ponta Delgada. Beeing not experts in sushi, we decided to eat sushi and choose this restaurant to dine. Wonderful choice ! No fancy nor theatrical sushi performances ! At the balcony we told the sushi chef that we were no experts in sushi, so, we asked for their advices and suggestions. He did ! Staff. service, plates, and support deserving at least 4 on 5 stars. Each plate was wonderful. Each person on the whole staff, gently supportive and ready to build an waunderful dinner of sushi. Even the deserts were unforgettable. To end a bill very very fair not to say economic. To remember on next visit to São Miguel
