Spoon - Pittsburgh

Food and service was excellent! I would highly recommend spoon for an increased intake of classic eating.

Among the positive are beautiful ambiente, good cocktails and delicious chicken salt imbocca. the restaurant did not live up to the 4-5 star ratings I saw here for many reasons: the brot was too hearty (perhaps stale) and served with ricotta and a bit olive oil that was very bland; the borata came with a beautiful mix of olives, pfirsichen, prosciutto and tomaten, but neither the pfirsiche nor tomaten were ripe and the whole thing was cool bath overall better than many of the Italian restaurants in pittsburgh, but that speaks more with the number of old, sad Italian restaurants in the city and not with the quality of this. I would not recommend it and not return.

Food was well prepared and presented. At the time we ate there were very few other customers a Tuesday night about 7 PM. The staff was suitably attentive.

The food is great, the service is great. A nice place to take a date. The bar is nice for eating alone or with a friend. The Bartenders are knowledgable. I wish the lighting was better. It's usually too brightly lit, but overall it's a good dining out experience.
