Really friendly people and a good selection of buns.Pictured: top-two coconut tarts, mid left-coconut custard pineapple bun, bottom left-bbq pork pineapple bun, middle-two red bean pineapple buns, right-bean paste sesame ball.Visit around late august/September to get fresh mooncakes! They are so yummy!
The pastries are so delicious and cheap. The lady at the counter is super sweet. Love this place.
Got the Portuguese egg tart and the taro bun, both were delicious!
Made a quick trip to Philly to get some eats! Of course, knew we'd have to pick up some of the paper wrapped sponge cakes from St. Honore. We called ahead to make sure they would have them and ordered 3 dozen. When we called ahead to order, we gave them a time for when we'd be there to pickup. So, we checked in and asked if we could come back in an hour or two. They were very accommodating. And while we were there, they sold out of egg custard tarts, but said they had more to be baked. So, we ordered 2 dozen of those to pick up as well! The egg custard tarts were hot when we picked them up. So, if you're getting them to go and driving home, be sure to open up the boxes so that they don't sweat and get soggy. We ate a few while they were hot on the drive home! The paper wrapped sponge cakes are delish. They're also half the price of what I'd pay here at home in Maryland! They're light and fluffy. Just the right amount of sweetness. My mom likes to freeze them so they last longer. She'll take a couple out of the freezer and thaw them and they're still great!If/when I make it to Chinatown in Philly again, I'd stop here to pick up more to bring home.
One of my top places for bolo boas, a solid choice if you are overwhelmed with the amount of Chinese bakeries in Chinatown. They are cash only so make sure to bring enough cash
