Nelson Ilpls Clarion House - Pendle

Really historical place with history of the independent party. beautiful hot fire in winter, picnic table, popular with hikers and cyclists, toilets, served drinks and snacks. served by volunteers who were very helpful.

Out for a walk up Pendle on Sunday, the only day this wonderful place only and popped in for a pint of tea. Staffed by knowledgeable and talkative volunteers and with a lot of history, this place is interesting. View spectacular, long drop toilet outside is historical (modern toilets available inside), the place simply has such a peaceful atmosphere.

We arrived and the place was deserted. However a gentleman arrived on a bike and made us a brew. He wasn't on duty but held the fort until the duty staff for the day arrived. Always a genuine welcome here. I would like to thank the gentleman for his kindness.
