A place where efficiency and perfection is served. Menu Tablets are used instead of your traditional page by page menu, each item has a picture represented so feel free to pick whichever made you drool the most. Tablets are well updated on its available products everyday so if its not on the tablet, order something else. Our Orders: Mix Toji Teishoku - breaded porkloin, fried shrimp and sukiyaki beef simmered in special sauce and egg. It also served soup and side dishes. I loved the texture of all the meat on this plate with the right sweetness and soy base sauce. Saba Shio - salt grilled mackerel. Fishes are at the least of my foodlist so when I encounter a good fish dish, its on my recommended record and this one made it. It has a clean taste, meaty and all-tasty. Sukiyaki Teishoku - beef hot pot with assorted veggie in stewed sukiyaki sauce. Belly filling dish that is sharable. There are lot of ways to it sukiyaki so make sure to try which suits you best. Tamago Yaki - its your japanese omelette roll. Its perfect to balance with my sweet sukiyaki. Reminder: they have 5% service charge. hekaonechan.blogspot.com

Big mall & big belly but bad back is never a good combination. At 6.5months pregnant, SM Megamall is a hell on earth especially since we pregnant women need to go to the point every 30minutes but the restrooms are on both ends of the mile long buildings interconnected. So imagine my joy when we stumbled upon Yayoi for a late lunch. It's similar to restaurants in Tokyo where you place your order via a screen. But they took it to the next level by placing iPads on every table & bar space. As BF would say it, it's as if we're dining in a library. Stark contrast to the burger joint where we were supposed to eat but had very loud music. Ambiance-wise, if you're looking for a quiet place to dine in this crazily dizzying mall, Yayoi is for you. Food: I got their lunch special of Yaki Curry set P545. I came with clear soup, salad, sizzling ground pork curry rice topping & pickles. It was surprisingly good even though there weren't much meat. My son got the Katsu Curry set P450. Same as mine it came with all the other fixings. The pork Katsu was crunchy on the outside yet juicy in the inside. Their Japanese rice is good too, at P80/cup & comes with additional pickles. Service was superb. Their waiters are all courteous and my water glass was never neglected. They nicely guided us through the ordering process & even check-out. Only thing that's stopping me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that their set didn't include dessert. Yeah yeah. They do have an extensive dessert menu but heck, at those set prices, a slice of fruit wouldn't have cost much, right?
