The Tharabar Gate - Pakokku

One of the best hotels in Bagan. The hotel is located in Bagan near Ananda Pagoda and many other Bagan Pagoden.

With so many ways to stay in Bagan, I would highly recommend The Hotel Tharabar Gate! You cannot beat the location, staff and food! Bagan is amazing, but Tharabar Gate made it much more special. From the second we came to the hotel, we were greeted with helping hands and great smiles. Check-in was a breeze and when we were led into our room, we were told about all the amenities of the hotel (in English and Chinese) where we could get our hands on some electric bikes, as well as which temples for check-out first! The rooms were huge with plenty of space to unload our bags. The bed was super comfortable, there was a large working room opposite the window, and the bathrooms were equipped with everything you need. In terms of food, breakfast was fantastic and had everything you could imagine from yogurt, fresh fruit, ready to order omelet, to a local breakfast. The dinner was particularly delightful with the whole garden illuminated with a reflection from its stunning pool. If we go back to Bagan, we'll stay here.

Lovely staff, huge rooms and a brilliant place to escape after a day of exploring temples. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay in Bagan! The location is pretty idyllic given that it is smack in the centre of Old Bagan, right by some of the most prominent temples. The food was lovely (huge portions! , the pool felt like a bit of an oasis and the staff were on hand to help and answer questions whenever needed! Will be recommending this place to my parents when they visit next year!

Located at the heart of Bagan Staff are quite friendly and helpful Rooms are clean and maintained It is like living in the forest.I recommended this hotel
