Bidrage med feedbackWent today for brunch. Only 2 cars in lot. Went in and seated with menus and silverware. Waited 10 minutes, waitress looked at us several times as she cleaned off a table. Nothing...no coffee or water or ...someone will be with you. After 10 minutes we got up and walked out. Will NOT go back.
Amanda, the manager at Bob Evan's in Oxford, is now my favorite person. My freshman daughter has been sick with a cold since arriving in Miami. Today, unfortunately, we had to tell her that our 11-year-old dog had passed away. She was crying in the stairwell because her roommate was studying in their room. I tried to order chicken noodle soup from Bob Evan's through DoorDash, but they couldn't deliver it since they were closing soon. I called and spoke to Amanda, the manager, and explained my situation, mentioning that I was calling from California. Amanda asked an employee if they would deliver the soup, biscuits, and pumpkin pie for $5, and then she insisted on comping it when I tried to pay over the phone. It was such a sweet gesture that it brought me to tears, and I'm still emotional about it. I promised Amanda that I would visit Oxford at the end of the month to thank her in person. My daughter said the chicken soup was excellent and exactly what she needed, and she claimed the pumpkin pie was the best she had ever tasted in her 18 years. To top it off, Amanda called me back to ensure my daughter received everything and was doing okay. Amanda at Bob Evan's is truly a gem in Oxford. If you happen to see her, please let her know that she has my heartfelt gratitude.
A pretty standard small Bob Evans. Typical menu: lots of breakfast, plenty of lunch and dinner items. We came in at noon on a weekday and it was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately and things had quieted down by 1pm. Sweetie had pancakes and bacon- both good, and big portions. I went with a wildfire chicken salad: iceberg, tomatoes, the usual generic salad, plus fried chicken chunks with BBQ sauce. Huge portion, very tasty. Also tried the new candied bacon. Meh. Not much for $4, and not nearly as good as at other places (to be fair, local, craft places, but still. Service was good. Prices are a bit high for the quality. Still, a nice place, decent food, and sometimes you just have to go out of nostalgia.
Between the food not having all the ingredients and the waitress being totally unconcerned about our breakfast dining experience, this is the worst Bob Evans visit we have had. No drink refills offered, when waitress was notified of the food being inaccurate she proceeded to the next table and took their order. She began to walk away from our table and had to be called back. No concern whatsoever. And this whole dining event lasted an hour and ten minutes for two people. For one breakfast that was kind of right! Never again.
Sometimes they got wonderful fried chicken, but this time is sooo bad, am I eating a stone with a which core?
