Bidrage med feedbackWe popped in to the Cider Mill while visiting family in Northville, and it was so fun with tons of treats and homey vibes. The Mill has been around since the 1800s, and you can really feel the history in the place! Especially the barn look of the shop and the wood touches everywhere. The apple cider donuts are to die for, the actual apple cider itself is tasty, and there are tons of other apple things to grab and go, like apple syrup, apple butter, and even Northville Cider merch. If you're in Northville, definitely make a quick stop in to grab some delicious apple products and see the extremely cool Mill!
I wanted to stop by Parmenter's before winter really began. If you compare it to Blake's in Armada then you'll be disappointed since Blakes is almost a cider mill amusement park) but I think it's a small nice quant and straight forward Cider mill where you can get all the essentials. I ordered a half dozen powdered donuts 8.25) half gallon of apple cider 9.25) and an apple cider slush that I missed the price of but in my opinion is the best tasting item you can get here! There is free parking and it's decently sized. I've seen small crowds here before but never felt that it was overcrowded as the lines move pretty quickly and it's plenty of benches to spread out if you want to enjoy your food outside. They're closed now for the rest of 2023 but should be open again fall 2024.
Honestly it was a bit disappointing... compared to Franklin cider mill, Parmenter's didn't have any farmer's market when we were there yesterday so there was really not much to do or see. After we ate our donuts and drank our cider, the only thing left to do was to leave. The cider was great and fresh, but the donuts were not warm, which made me believe they didn't make their donuts fresh there on site, rather perhaps they were made elsewhere and delivered here. It was quite disappointing.
Parmenter's is a lovely place to visit on a fall day. It's a pretty popular place so be prepared to stand in line. The fresh apples, donuts (we prefer plain over cinnamon sugar), cider (regular, hot or slushees) are all worth it. There's a market inside the main barn with all things apple related for sale. There are also stand alone huts for seasoned nuts and homemade fudge You can watch cider being made through a side door in the barn. Outdoor seating is limited near the cider area but more plentiful near the winery barn. Yes that's right! There is a barn just a short walk up the hill that sells hard cider, beer and wine! Now, I know you want to go!
Love that this is local and not too far. The grounds are fairly small but enough to walk around and dogs are allowed outside so we appreciated that. We got the apple cider, apple butter and cider donuts. The prices were reasonable and no admission so that's nice. The cider was delicious! Loved it. The donuts... super underwhelming. Prob my least fav in MI so far. Not warm/fresh and they used like a powdered sugar vs cinnamon sugar so wouldn't get those again but would like to come to the winery some time!
