Bidrage med feedbackI dined here this week with my father and brother. The seating of the restaurant is very comfortable and the decor pleasing. I was excited by the menu whcih presented local ingredients in an interesting way with a lot of asian influence. I was particularly impressed with the entrees. We tried the oyster shooters with cauliflower puree and the duck pancakes. Both were very tasty. For main I had the yellow curry john dory which was very elegantly presented ans tasty. My brother had the rainbow trout with chips ( the chips were 10/10). I will definitely go back here. Good service. Good food . Good value and BYO !
A pleasant little place. No blaring music, no pretentions. The menu is somewhat Asian in the entrees but European in the mains, which allows for some interesting combinations. Last night I started with an entrée of BBQ'd Haloumi, Asparagus, Mushroom & Tomato, which was a deliciously light starter. followed by a special of Tempura Snapper. Very good snapper, albeit it was crumbed, not tempura. My wife enjoyed the choice of four interesting salads. A good alternative to cooking at home. They do offer a kids menu, but (sorry if I offend others) the place is so nice and peaceful I wouldn't like to see it become too family friendly. These days the choice seems to be 'adult' restaurants with cocktails and blaring modern music or neighbourhood gems full of mum & dad & Jimmy & Billy. Sometimes it's nice to enjoy a quiet meal with the spouse without these other distractions and without having to spend a fortune.
Springwell is a friendly, unassuming, good-value cafe in the relatively quiet location of the affluent inner-Sydney suburb of Northbridge, not to be confused with the much more trendy and cosmopolitan Northbridge of Perth, Western Australia. On an early booking on a Saturday night, we experienced a friendly welcome, a menu with sufficient choices, a short wine list, but b.y.o. wine at $4 p.p., and good but not over-attentive service. Most importantly, the food was fresh, well cooked, tasted good and came at a substantially lower cost than an average Sydney restaurant. The food is 'modern Australian' with Asian influences. It does not pretend to be 'upmarket' or 'haute cuisine', and if that's what you want, go elsewhere. But as a good food, good value restaurant, we were favourably impressed, on our first visit there.
Very authentic home cooking at a reasonable price. It's like eating at home no pretensions at a very, very reasonable price!
Excellent in all ways, welcoming, quiet, comfortable, fresh food well-prepared, reasonable prices, very interesting menu, often new things to try. Licensed or BYO. We keep returning and bringing our friends.
