Bidrage med feedbackWent to Shoeless Joe's for the first time today. Got a gift card last Christmas and decided to use it. Food was okay. No different than any other sports bar, I suppose. The service was pretty disappointing though. Coincidentally, our total bill (including taxes) was just a few cents short of the gift card value so after we paid, the server gave us our receipt and then left. I don't know if she thought we weren't going to tip any more than 30-something cents. We were hoping to do a machine transaction to leave a tip, but she gave us attitude when she said it couldn't be done. Which is fine, but she could have been nicer about it and actually stopped to hear us out so we could ask what other options we had. We did still end up tipping around 15%, but we won't be coming back to this restaurant.
Poutine was mostly gravy. Like a gravy soup with fries and cheese. Asked for dry martini got a dirty martini and it was a double I didnt ask for a double it tasted like pure alcohol i said i didnt want it and got a corona instead. They still charged my fiance for it. I noticed after we left .
I visited there after 4 months of not able to go out and having an easy dinner with some pints. I always like their draught selections; Stella Artois and Belgian Moon are classic draught but they also had Heineken as a draught which is very hard to see in Canada. The fish tacos were very classic. I liked that they implemented the online menu because of COVID precautions. I just simply had to pull my phone and scan the barcode to see the menus; I think it is a better idea than printing thousands of menus and dispose them. All staff were wearing a mask or a field shield. During stage 2 in Ontario, this place can be a go-to-place because their patio was quite relaxing. It was a Sunday afternoon but wasn 't super busy at all. The server was quite nice, had no issue with her and it was a good experience!
The service was atrocious, took an hour to get our drinks and two to get our food. Overall ended up being there for 3:30 hours without an apology and when we spoke to manager /owner he treated us with outrageous disrespect.
I forgot exactly what I ordered but it was a beef burger with a baked potato. One of the driest and most bland burgers I have ever had for $13. The burger came with the beef patty, lettuce, pickles, and onions. Although I used a lot of ketchup, it the burger was not that great. The baked potato came out steaming hot, served with sour cream. Service was average.
