Uncle Rod's Bbq Catering - Niles

I now know why this place is rated lower than pretty much every other restaurant in the area including fast food. It is absolutely terrible. I read the other reviews, but still decided to give it a try. I thought to myself that it could not be that bad, but I was wrong and it is that bad. I got the rib tips (comes with roasted potatoes) and a small order of the mac and cheese. The rib tips had similar texture and toughness to that of a gas station bag of beef jerky, but none of the flavor. They came drenched in what they are trying to pass as BBQ, but tastes only of city water. In addition, the roasted potatoes did not appear to be roasted at all, but rather boiled and you guessed it, taste only of city water. The mac and cheese was not bad. I ordered it with extra cheese and it is probably a good thing that I did because they probably would have tasted like the water it was boiled in as well. The few positive reviews I seen (probably from friends/family) talk about how great these people are and how great their customer service is. I can not speak on the matter as I had the food Door Dashed to me. So maybe that is their one redeeming quality, but I can not say. If that is the case, maybe they should open a bar instead as they lack any ability to cook or BBQ. If you do want some great BBQ in the area as well as great customer service I highly recommend Curley Q's. Everything on the menu is amazing and their main ingredient is not city water.

Great place to eat service is fantastic always with a smile and a thank you for your business.... always get the steak... so tender melts in your mouth great flavor and a decent portion... Mac and cheese great bake beans and green beans awesome and well seasoned....... cheesy potatoes a little greasy but still amazing..... would recommend to anyone that wants a great grilled steak winone of the work

Just ate the BBQ chicken and the pork along with the roasted potato and baked beans. It was delicious. I enjoyed every bite of it. The baked beans were hot. The BBQ sauce was flavorful. The pork texture was the way I like it. Uncle Rod was pleasant and helpful and provided what I requested.

Just stopped at Uncle Rod?s for the first time and the ribs were great. The sauce was on point and the roasted potatoes were a nice change of pace from french fries. Uncle Rod was also real friendly, we will definitely be back!

Such a kind man with an insatiable love for the meals he makes. Extremely thoughtful preparation with impeccable service. Trust me; once you get here, the aroma will explain it all better than I ever could. Wow. Best best best BBQ around. Thank you, Uncle Rod!
