Bidrage med feedbackCelebrated a birthday of a friend here. Their peri-peri chicken takes 20-30 minutes to cook, but you can call ahead to save time. They are known for their chicken and that's probably the only thing on their menu. The meat is very tender and juicy, it is fragrant, and you will never get tired of eating it. The only problem is that they take so much time to cook. It is another long wait if you re-order. Each chicken whether a fourth, half, or whole comes with side dishes. We chose the Frangos rice which is like a java rice, and their famous Roasted Pumpkin Hummus. The hummus has a sweet cinnamon taste, but the bread it comes with was not good. While waiting for the chicken, we ordered Chorizo and Cheese Quesadillas. Together with the sour cream and salsa, it was really flavorful and delicious. I think we kept re-ordering this dish. We also tried the Beef Trinchado, it's like beef salpicao with potatoes and garlic. We also had ginger ale which is very fresh. Price is on the above average side. Plenty of parking available but is also shared with other establishments. Staffs are friendly and accommodating.
This is good soulfood right here. Frangos Portuguese Chicken is moist, flavorful and good sauce on the side to keep you goin'. Must go with the Frangos rice of course. And you also have to be pretty patient because the chicken takes 20-30 minutes to prepare. But oh its worth the wait indeed. We went on a Saturday and the place is pretty light and relaxed. I'd definitely recommend this to ny friends and family.
Legazpi Market's charm rests in its very hipster-friendly choices, but as with any other food markets where there is a massive variety, you get the illusion of choice and not everything is good. So you might as well settle with the first good thing you see and try everything else out when a. you are not in a rush b. you have the patience to deal with bad decisions and c. when you have money to blow. Before, when I was a Legazpi mainstay during Sundays, one stall that I keep coming back to is Frangos Chicken. I'm glad that I can now enjoy Frangos all week long as they have put up a neat little brick and mortar place in Kamagong for us hungry chicken addicts. I love that the food still tastes the same, but what I love even more is that we can now order other side dishes to go with the chicken. The sauces are still explosive and fiery and I love that they stayed true to the original taste that I have come to love. Another great thing about a brick and mortar is you can now sit on comfortable tables and chairs instead of melting out in the heat (or getting rained on) in Legazpi's tarp canopies. I am a big fan of the very strong ginger ale that they serve. They also have Merry Moo ice cream that they serve to cap off a spicy and satisfying meal. Really. What's not to love?
To be honest, I was skeptical when I first about Frango 's. I asked myself, Haven 't we had enough of these roast chicken variations that almost always taste like each other? Thank God I got past my initial reservations and headed off to their Kamagong branch for dinner with friends. Their chicken is made to order so prepare to wait 20-25 mins for your order. But it is well worth the wait! The chicken is moist, juicy and very flavorful. They serve it with three dipping sauces. Personally,I like putting a little bit of each sauce onto the meat and eat the crispy skin last because I apparently don 't care about cholesterol. If you 're going there for the first time, try the chicken with the Frango rice and buttered corn. They have heaping servings so orders are great for groups. The chicken is definitely the star of the menu but I 'll definitely be coming back with more people to try their other non-chicken items.
The first time I tried Frangos was at Legaspi market. I ended up having the last order that day and it was still so juicy and crispy! When I found out that they had a restaurant in Kamagong (near Carlo's house , I had to go there! Since then, I've been here a few times and I always order the same meal: roasted pumpkin hummus, half order of Frangos chicken, frangos rice, buttered corn, coleslaw, and a Grande pilsen. Also, the big difference about the Frangos chicken served in the restaurant is that the chicken is made-to-order. It will take 20-25 minutes, BUT worth every minute! Imagine super juicy chicken, seasoned with just the right amount of spices with perfectly crisp skin! The 3 dips it comes with are green harissa, tomato piri-piri and Frangos chili sauce. For me, I just eat the chicken with the mango salsa. The sweetness of the mangoes goes very well with the Chicken (nom nom nom! . All the sides were good but I especially love the buttered corn. The roasted pumpkin hummus...You MUST try it! It's sweet but there is a kick to it. I'm not good with describing awesome dishes but, seriously, it's delicious! I really wish it came with more bread slices, 4 slices is not enough! Frangos is a good place for groups; it's very chill and you won't want to rush yourself. The servings are big and the prices are reasonable. If you LOVE chicken, you have to go here! :D
