Bidrage med feedbackConsidering the options in Newport this is a solid location. I eat here every time I am in Newport for work and I have enjoyed it. They have a wide variety on their lunch menu, you can order anything from a burger to a steak. They also have healthy options, and a bar area if you are there for dinner. Granted, if this place were in a larger city it would be a 3 star tops, but considering the other options if you are in Newport I highly recommend eating here.
Glad we didn't skip this place based on the reviews. The food was hot and everyone had good things to say about their meals. The chicken strips were homemade and tasty. They have Pepsi
Just passing through decided this was a better bet than boring Burger King. They have BIG truck parking in between the restaurant and hotel (Motel 6). Quiet on a Sunday evening, pleasant wait staff, good prices for a steakhouse and great varied menu. I ordered a blue cheese wedge salad and fried green tomatoes. It was wonderful!
I stopped in at 10:30 on Friday night and the place was very very quiet. Plenty of parking outside though. Not in a mood for a steak or a burger, I got the pulled pork dinner, which comes with two sides. Hot mashed potatoes and cool cole slaw. Delicious! Cold beer, though the Coors Light tasted a little off.
Came here for a steak after a long four days of hiking in the Smokies. I had the 6 oz. sirloin, collard greens and poblano soup with white cheddar. The best part of the meal was the soup...it was very good. However, the collard greens were awful. It tasted like there was something pickled in them and it did NOT taste good. The steak itself was just decent, nothing better than one you could make at home. I paid $1.49 more to get it topped with mushrooms and those were a little sad. They looked pretty dehydrated, whereas another guy who had his steak topped with mushrooms and onions had big fresh-looking mushrooms. Whatever. The cheese fries for an appetizer were loaded with cheddar, bacon and green onion. Pretty good, but that's hard to mess up. The complimentary bread was pretty tasty too. Overall, it was a bit below average for a meal, though, so that's why it gets 2 stars. The service was good and our server was very nice, although she was busy. We sat in the bar area and noticed one very inebriated man leaning on multiple people sitting at the bar and stumbling around spilling beer. Entertaining? Yes. But should he have been cut off? Absolutely. That is all.
