Bidrage med feedbackThe flavor here is authentic Indian this is the best you will find in Rhode Island and here are some tips to enjoy this food even better 1. Ask the waiter to ask the chef to reduce the oil on the Indian bread basket 2. If you like Shrimp, just order the Tandoori Shrimp i will give it a 10 on 5! Most delicious meat on the menu that has the lowest calorific count 3. Enjoy the Goan Curry Vegetarian it 's a taste that is hard to replicate since it 's the chefs speciality! 4. If you are Indian avoid ordering Indian level of spices , the waiter asks you what is your spice level and the Indian spice level is way too hot even for a spice loving Indian like me 5. The tandoori items are delightful ask the chef to slow roast it with a lot of lime and spices to enjoy true Indian tandoori taste
Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Rhode Island. Actually nearby Connecticut too. There's a fancy Indian place up a few towns to the north which looks amazing but the food at Maharaja is superior. Don't let the funky colors and kind of odd setting in that weird hotel put you off the food is fantastic. They staff here are also really friendly. Overall, outstanding food, friendly and eager service, funky decor and Bollywood movies playing on the TV add up to a great meal. One of my favorite places.
Very nice staff. Many naan options. Lots of vegetarian choices. Delicious #59. We recommend it.
They have done it again!!! I cannot help but express how satisfied I am with the quality of service and friendly atmosphere maharajah delivers each time I visit. I came in with a party of 4 and we were given seats spacious for 6 people, at the family table. I ordered the Mango Lassi for everyone and we shared the honey and ginger Naan bread. We then enjoyed a variety of entrees served alongside a warm bed of rice. To say the least we were starting the night off exceptionally well. If you haven't tried the Ginger and Honey Naan yet you should, between a party of 4 we could have easily gone through 2 orders. The mango Lassi is a personal favorite drink that pairs well with any savory dish but if you prefer alcoholic beverages they have a wide variety of selections as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you want an experience with friends or family that is sure to please everybody you have to stop by maharajah if your visiting the narragansett area. Thank you to everyone on service last night!!! I enjoyed the conversations we shared and was grateful for the hospitality that made us feel comfortable and welcome. I'll definitely be coming back time and time again.
Love the food but their service is still a hot mess. If you go during peak times the service is slow yet frantic. Great Groupon deals so make sure to check for those online first. Great lunch specials too. Still let me BYOB even though they now have a license. Varied spice levels drive me crazy sometimes I get medium and it's mild tasting other times I get medium and it's so spicy I can't eat it. Still a fun place and the prices are reasonable. I've enjoyed every dish I've tried, no misses, but the curry chicken is a standout.
