Yea's Wok - Newcastle

I've known Peter Yea for over 40 years. He is dedicated to this restaurant and often you will find him helping out in the kitchen or waiting tables. Dont let the strip mall location fool you. This is a 5 star restaurant in disquise. Clean and organized. The food is fresh, cooked to perfection and always consistantly excellent. This is a hidden gem. You'll be glad you tried it. .

The staff was very quick to seat us, take our order, and bring out the food. The food all came out fresh and super quick. I got the Mongolian beef, general chicken, chicken chow mein, and chicken friend rice. They all came out fresh and my table all agreed that the Mongolian beef was the best. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area!

This restaurant is labeled as Hunan and Sichuan but it is actually a Taiwanese restaurant. There are two menus in the store. The Chinese menu has a lot of offal stir fries, and the English menu has American style Chinese food. The portions are super large and really affordable. Seafood tofu soup it’s a soup that’s thicker and thicker. It’s nice to drink it before a meal. Three Cup Chicken The seasoning is a bit heavy. The aroma of bone in chicken and nine story pagoda is quite strong, but the meat is a bit old. Walnut Butter Shrimp My Korean friend ordered it, but it was quite delicious. The walnuts were super crispy. The salad dressing was sweet yet sour. It was wrapped in fried shrimps. I ate half a bowl by myself. Sauerkraut Beef The domestic sauerkraut is still delicious, sweet, sour and crispy. The beef is also very tender but a bit salty. House Fried Rice Fried rice with a lot of ingredients, very fragrant and with distinct grains.

Great food. Been around for 20+ years I think so it has to be pretty good to survive for that long.

Very delicious and large portions at the Taiwan owned restaurant. Loved the curry Shrimp noodles, Pepper Salt Chicken, Beef Green Bean, Beef Basil Chinese style , and Fish Filet with Black Bean Sauce, and Singapore Sling Noodle. All fantastic. Large space can have bigger groups, family style
