Mother Duck - New York

The overall experience was pleasant. The food was great. The biggest opportunity here was their service. There is a disconnect within the staff. Drinks arrived only after I reminded the waitress. The servers brought other patrons food over and then the waitress could not split the bill the way we asked. The food and music made the experience

Food was good. Place was very loud. Had to shout while talking to be heard. Needs a place to hang up coats and jackets as the stools don’t have backs.

Unfortunately the kitchen timing was terrible. First appetizer didn't come at all. My entree was brought to me before the second appetizer. My waiter was very apologetic and tried his best. The manager came and did the right thing; took off the first appetizer from my bill (it eventually came) and took the side of coconut rice off the bill (it came out ice cold). And we heard our waiter apologize to at least four other tables a number of times. Also, the table next to us received one entree prior to any appetizers as well.

The food was great, but came out very slowly. And then they forgot our very last dish! The waitress was lovely and very apologetic, and gave us two shots of tequila to apologize. The gesture of the shots was nice, but not exactly what we were expecting on a Tuesday night!
