The Greek Olive - New Haven

I had a great experience at this restaurant. Making a reservation through OpenTable was simple, and I was happy to receive a complimentary appetizer. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. The Chicken Orzo soup was especially fantastic. The Spanakopita appetizer was tasty, but the portion size was a bit small for sharing. Overall, the entrees were excellent and I will definitely be returning soon.

Located at the intersection of I-95 and I-91, this restaurant is in a convenient location. We decided to try the Greek dishes and were not disappointed. The chicken and beef gyros were delicious and the french fries were exceptional - crispy and crunchy. Although the service was a bit slow, we didn't mind as it was a relaxing break from our drive. Thanks to our online reservation, our table was elegantly covered with a table cloth, a nice touch.

Much better than I had expected. Essentially a diner and very spartan in decor; but... the kitchen nevertheless delivered and the service was just great! Good location for going to Long Warf theater and the other (oftern crowed restaurant at Long Warf wouldn't take a reservation for two the Olive did, which was very important as our timing was tight that evening. We wanted Greek and we got Greek: my wife whent for the lambchomps done just the way she wanted and with a superb, deep sauce and incredibly delicious, real mashed potatoes. I opted for the chicken with the traditional egg lemon sauce. with a well seasoned orzo. Both included a Greek salad. The finale was pistachio gelato (fantastic! over baklavah. We will return.

We attended their first Mother's Day Brunch and had an amazing time, the food was excellent. We are already planning to go back for Father's Day, that's how much we enjoyed it! We also occasionally stop by for lunch and have always had a delicious meal.

Not only was booking the reservation incredibly easy for a first time OpenTable user, but the dining experience was highly enjoyable too. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the restaurant offers a complimentary appetizer for anyone who books a reservation. Service was very quick and helpful, while food was great. Chicken Orzo soup in particular was outstanding! Spanakopita appetizer was delicious, but portion was a little small even for two people to share. Overall, both entrees were great and I would definitely go back soon
