Jake & Humphreys' Bistro - New Hamburg

We just picked up our order (since that is all that is allowed at the present time from J&H and it was absolutely delicious. We have a virtual event tonight for my husband's work and ordering in dinner was part of the event.I had the romaine salad with house-made croutons, dressing, and bacon; the panko and nacho crusted chicken with garlic aioli mayo and roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables including braised red cabbage (yum!! ; and the signature J&H brownie with homemade ice cream! My husband had the lobster bisque (amazing!! the Striploin Steak with three peppercorn sauce, mashed potatoes, and sauteed vegetables as well. For dessert he had the lemon meringue tart with house-made sour cream ice cream!We ordered the house-made focaccia, which was also great, and a bottle of Chateau des Charmes Riesling which is one of my favorite wineries in the NOTL area, but is very hard to find at local LCBOs. I was really happy to see they had this available to accompany our meal.Portion sizes were amazing, and everything was delicious!We will definitely order again, no question! Thanks so much!!

It’s great to have your expectations substantially exceeded. Jake Humphreys was a wonderful experience in a humble ambience.Christine Tiffany do an exceptionally fine job looking after their guests. The service is as good as it comes anywhere. We were pleased that they stock the Stratford distilled Junction 56 vodka.The menu is limited so every patron is served fresh outstanding meals. The liver which I had was the finest I’ve had in a long time. My partner was very pleased with her lamb. The deserts are made in house including the ice cream. Don’t skip desert when you’re at this fine restaurant.We will return to this great little restaurant frequently.

We had a fabulous dinner recently. Sadly they are closing soon for retirement and are fully booked until thenVegetarian options: We had a vegetarian vegetable plate chock full of so many tasty treats. Well executed and planned at many places the vegetarian option is only an afterthought. Not so here?

Really good food in a very casual atmosphere. Interesting wine choices, food prepared to fine dining standards and friendly service. All good.Update: My first foray into the world post Covid, and I enjoyed the whole experience.

Awesome food and service. We enjoyed the Curry Salmon and Stuffed Pork Chop cheese and mushrooms). The veggies were prepared perfectly. We heard the desert list but will wait till our next visit.
