B - New Delhi

I was suggested this place by my friend and it turned to be a memorable evening. B Bar stands for Buddha Bar. Spread over a large area on level 4 of the Select CityWalk Mall, it features a restaurant section, a lounge, the bar section and private dining rooms. The ambience inside is very peaceful with large Buddha statues all around. Everything inside will impress you, be it the furniture, or the lights, the candles and specially the large dome in the centre. The place is a marvel with beautiful decor. Every detail of the interior and the aura will keep pleasing you. The service is no doubt good. From sitting on the chair to spreading your napkins to keeping your handbags, you will be helped out in everything. You feel so special and royal. The food was no doubt good. The presentation of the food was amazing along with the taste. (too much non-vegetarian stuff in the menu, kinda difficult for a vegetarian guy) So if you want to spend some wonderful time (may be with your special someone) and you are heavy on your pockets, this is definitely one of the best place in the city.

We visited B Bar at Delhi and it was okay. Unfortunately it was Ghandis birthday and that day is a non alcohol day all over country. : I guess it was also the reason that the Bar was not filled with guests, they even removed all the bottles from the wall boards behind the bar. So the look was somehow as if you visit a place yet finished. Just opened to get the money. If you really want to visit a nice B Bar go to Dubai. Even in Prague was much better and there its only a Little Buddah Bar. But okay, its India and so you can't expect more.

B Bar is a pan Asian restaurant in Select City Walk, Saket. They serve a variety of dishes from Japan, China, Malaysia and Thailand. The decor consists of a huge brass colour statue at the entry and the inside area has an intricately designed high dome. The look and feel of the restaurant is plush with a huge dining area and bar on one side. We started with fried mushrooms and chicken dimsums. Mushrooms were served with Thai ginger sauce. Both the dishes were alright. Later we had some prawn dimsums too. This was absolutely divine. It looked and tasted way better than chicken dimsums. We tried both vegetarian and non vegetarian varieties of Maki Rolls. We had Avocado and California Maki rolls along with other stuff. Maki rolls were delicious and at par with what we had at some of the restaurants in five star hotels. What disappointed us a little bit was the mocktails. We had two different mocktails and they looked nice but tasted terribly sweet. Somehow the citrus one was better than the raspberry/strawberry one and it helped us wash down the sushi. It was a nice experience and we will recommend B Bar for special occasions when the experience matters more than the cost.
