The presence of the sacred object at Takamitsu Shrine is truly remarkable - a towering giant rock that stands out. I began my mountain climb on the morning of October 15, 2021, just before 6 AM as the faint light of dawn was breaking. I departed Sakai at midnight, took the Tokushima Expressway and got off at Mima IC, then drove up narrow country roads. Along the way, I encountered four male deer, wild boar, Japanese serow, tanuki, and rabbits. I arrived at the trailhead parking lot of Mt. Ken at 5:48 AM and started my climb. At 7:04 AM, I reached Takagake no Matsue, Kozure Jinja Shrine, Kenzan Hongu Hozo Shrine, and the summit of Mt. Ken at 7:52 AM. From the observation point with a double view of Mt. Tsurugi and Jirokake, I traversed at 8:47 AM, then arrived at the sacred water at 9:00 AM and the sacred object of Takamitsu Shrine at 9:05 AM. I descended from the Kenshin Shrine trailhead at 10:04 AM.

On the Kendo course from Nishijima Station on the Lift to the summit, there is a large sword shrine located about 50 meters from the shrine. This shrine is known as a powerful spot for mountain worship, where it is said to cut off all negative ties and create the best relationships in the present world.

This restaurant is excellent. Definitely visit during a trek up Mt. Tsurugi. The strange rock formations are a must-see!

社は古いですが、迫力がすごいです。 毎回、参拝させて頂いた後、近くの「御神水」を頂戴します。
