Little Richards Bbq - Mount Airy

My boyfriend and I always stop in Mt. Airy on our way home from vacation to the Wilmington area. When it comes to food, he loves a good BBQ restaurant. Little Richard's was the perfect choice! So much so that I completely forgot to take pictures of our meals when they came out. We will be stopping here again on our next vacation. Our waitress was welcoming and friendly. I wish I could remember her name. She was the only waitress due to the time of day. She did a fantastic job taking care of us as well as the 6 or 7 other tables that quickly filled in around us. Appetizers : Beer battered onion rings They were the best I've ever had, thinly sliced and beer battered to perfection. BBQ cheese fries They could absolutely be eaten as a meal. Delicious, smoky flavor and overall good taste. My meal : Regular size garden salad The bowl was packed full with fresh lettuce and veggies. The salad came with a side of hushpuppies very large portion for only being a side. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Fried Okra also a very large portion for being a side dish. Crispy on the outside and mouth washing goodness on the inside. My boyfriend's meal : The Spudzilla (giant baked tater with beef brisket hickory sauce) It's name doesn't do it justice. It was HUGE! Beef brisket as tender, juicy, and went perfectly with the hickory sauce.

Good food. Server was young and surly. She needs another job.

My husband and I chose this place because of the reviews. I ordered smoked bbq chicken, potato salad and collards. It was delicious. My husband ordered 3 meat platter. He enjoyed everything. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken legs and baked beans. The brisket was better than Buc-ee’s he said. We will be coming back.

The food was delicious. Corn fritters out of this word. ? Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, kids menu.

Best darn BBQ around, hands down. The wait staff is always friendly and quick. The food arrives fast and is out of this world. The portions are amazing sizes for the price. You most certainly will not leave hungry!!! Highly recommend and if I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
