Bidrage med feedbackWent to Abruzzo with my family looking for a new Italian restaurant where everyone can find something to eat. My son and I are happy with pizzas, pasta or almost any dish while my wife is sneaking away from Carbs. Read her menu before,...Abruzzo seemed to cover all bases. The location is located on a road that is very quiet at night and one opposite the Jacques Cartier bridge. At 7:30 p.m. it was still bright and we didn't think the view outside was something too special, except to look at the bridge. We ordered our meal and started with a very nice antipasto plate. What arrived was a nice selection of cold cuts, cheese, fruit, smoked salmon, fresh vegetables, foccacia bread and an olive oil/balsamico vinegar and a tomato sauce dip. I ordered a small plate and thought we got the big ones as it was quite a lot on the record. In fact, it was her little plate! We also ordered broschetta with pesto, goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. What arrived was a beautiful dish of fresh roasted foccaccia bread generous with fresh basil, arugula, tomatoes, goat and parmesan cheese. So fresh, so delicious. For the net, my wife ordered the piglet, which served a nice piece of pig dog on the most delicious Polnta. The best dish of the night was served the gnocchi in a pesto and cream sauce with dried tomatoes. We never tasted such pillows soft gnocchi with each, filled with mozzarella cheese and covered in a delicious sauce. The court was so decadent and every bite made us smile. We also ordered a spaghetti with meat sauce that was good. The pasta was made house and the sauce included minced meat and beef and fresh tomatoes. Very authentic and unlike many other restaurants where the pasta is simply covered with a bright red sauce. When the evening got dark outside, we saw something we didn't expect. We remembered that the bridge was renovated to include a 40 million dollars light installation, and it offered us a fascinating light show for the rest of the evening. Suddenly the view outside brought us entertainment. With La Ronde on the other side facing the river, this restaurant offers a great view of the weekly fireworks show in La Ronde. The fireworks begin at 10 a.m., so eating before and then watching outside will be our next visit plan.
We were a group of friends, one has celiac diseases. They have a menu made Gluten Free... 4 stoves where one is specifically reserved for Gluten meals to avoid any contamination and desert. New management... Nicolas was fantastic the entire evening. Food was tasty and...the ambiance with view was superb. Next day no issues for my Celiac friend....highly recommend to anyone. The meals came in reasonable intervals, we were not rushed out. Love the experience and will go back!
We dined at Abruzzo a few short months ago and we were served some decent dishes and food that was still frozen on the inside. Normally that would have been enough to cross a restaurant off our list but we felt they deserved a second...chance. On the day of our second reservation, 3 hours before dining they called us to tell us that a reservation we made over a month ago would not be hounoured as they had a big group in that night! No real apologies. Well that’s it, two strikes, you’re out! There are too many other good restaurants in Montreal.....
While the food is good, the ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and home-style. This time of the year Cavalia show is located just across the street, so it may be a good place to eat in.
My girlfriend and I chose this place at random while wandering around Montreal 's Gay Village and we were absolutely blown away by the food and the service. The waiter/bartender Nicholas was extremely friendly and knowledgable of the menu. He helped each of us find a...meal and drink that was suited to our tastes, and made great conversation throughout the night. And the food itself was honestly some of the best—if not THE best—pasta I 've ever had. Could not recommend this place more. I know that I 'll make it a point to return to Restaurant Abruzzo anytime I 'm back in town.
