Bidrage med feedbackThis was a hidden gem for anyone visiting the nearby LEGOLAND, which was severely lacking in good food options. However, this restaurant had very tasty, unique dishes and wonderful service!
This was a hard one to write. The food was good, the cocktails were good and the service was good... but 'Good ' doesn 't cut it when your head is pounding from the music. Now don 't get me wrong, I 'm not an old stick in the mud. I was clubbing in NYC during the late 80s when the book on loud music and excessive nightlife was written. But this isn 't the 1980 's, nor is it The Limelight, The Cellar, or Studio 54 in NYC. It 's a restaurant in Monroe NY where the food should not have to come with a side of ibuprofen. I kid you not, ...I was in a party of 8 and none of us could hear a single word that was said for the entire duration of our meal. We asked the waitress to lower the music, and she did... however, none of us being K-9s, ...were able to actually detect how many octaves lower she put it. Now to be fair, as I always try to be, my dish was very good. It was a shrimp dish that was very tasty and quite ample. Most everyone ordered something different and we were all very satisfied with the quality of the fare, so it would be safe to say most everything on the menu is worth trying... if you can stand the extremely LOUD music. The drinks were also perfectly prepared, we were a 50+ crowd and have been drinking cocktails since college, so we know what good drinks are. If we all didn 't walk out of there with headaches, this place would have gotten 5 stars. The two is for the food and the food only. The price was also kinda high, but I 'd overlook that because of the quality and the service. This not withstanding, I 'll never go back, and that 's a shame because I really wanted to try some of the other dishes. I 've inquired to others who 've eaten there at different times of the day... and different days of the week and to a single person, they all say the same thing... the music makes the place intolerable for dining.
Decided to try this place for restaurant week. Staff was very friendly and the place is very welcoming. Music was very country and didnt fit the Spanish/Mediterranean vibes. We came before 6pm so were able to participate in the happy hour drinks and the margaritas were delicious. We also got chicken empanadas, guacamole, and short rib buns to start. Portions were very small but delicious. I got the airline chicken which had a perfect and delicious crust on it. I personally not a fan of the inner taste though. Bland and dry. The mashed potatoes tasted like butter but they paired wonderfully with the veggies. My fiancé got the salmon which looked and tasted delicious. Cooked perfectly with a wonderful sear. The sauce for it was also delicious. We split the poached pair for dessert and it was very good. Cold and sweet and stuffed with a pear gelato. thinking of coming back to try their bottomless brunch but otherwise i wouldnt return.
Yikes! My husband and I went to your establishment on Saturday afternoon because we were excited to try the unlimited brunch. We didn't get the chance!! There was absolutely no one there to seat us or even greet us. We waited for 10 mins in the empty restaurant. My husband even tried to go find the guy who was power washing to ask if anyone was working. We decided to leave. This review is solely on the service of the restaurant.
We wanted so much to enjoy this restaurant! Walked in and immediately loved the ambience and were promptly greeted and seated. The server quickly arrived to take drink orders and throughout the night she was on her game constantly doing an amazing job refilling beverages. We enjoyed all our flavorful tapas risotto balls, lobster rolls, shrimp, and bacon) and our appetizers were also very good butternut squash ravioli and clam chowder). That's where my positive feedback ends. At that point we sat there waiting for nearly 25 minutes for our entrées to come out. The server never came out giving us any kind of an update. The restaurant was only about half full and we had arrived early 6 PM) to avoid a problem like this. Feedback on the food: the burgers lacked flavor. The lamb shank had a funky seasoning maybe Chinese five spice or some thing that just didn't sit well with us. I did enjoy my short rib with rigatoni. Because my husband barely touched the lamb shank, a kind gesture would've been to remove it from the bill. But instead, a free dessert was offered. The best part that our server offered was how wonderfully she stayed on top of refilling our waters. But her enthusiasm as a server left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately we couldn't understand a word she was saying behind her mask. Her refilling expertise and the ambience of the restaurant were not enough to make us want to return.
