Bidrage med feedbackBest bakery in BC, they even have Cherry Bakewells! Their Belgians are so good too.
We called Bear Country for a birthday cake last minute and they went out of their way and made us a cake within 2hours of our original call. You can’t get cakes like this around here no more..There used to be 2 small bakeries in Mission back in the day 35+ years ago that shut down when The Real Canadian Superstore came to town in 1997,, the name of those 2 bakeries was “The Bakerette” on 1st Ave and Hillside Bakery on 1st Ave,The cake we got from Bear Country tasted exactly the same as the white birthday cake from these 2 bakeries 35+years ago Soooooo Good..Missed that taste……They also upon request put roasted coconut on the sides of the cake …Mmmmm, we enjoyed this cake with some Vanilla Bean Hagan Daz ice cream. We recommend this bakery and give it 10/10!This cake will cost more than Superstore or Walmart but you will notice the difference in taste….. if you haven’t tried bear country it’s a no brainer…do yourself a favour and get your next Bday cake from them, you will Not regret it.Keep up the good work!Hope this helps everyone.
Edit due to owners response:I agree sensitivity goes a long way but when you are given none and are treated in what I consider to be a very rude manner it is your responsibility to change how you speak and treat customers. Also I do not sit behind a keyboard with nothing better to do but down your business, like I said I shop local and prefer to do so but you do not give the impression that you are really wanting feedback or that you would graciously accept it in a face to face way....I see that through your other responses to customers. I do not appreciate how I was treated and I stand by that and that is why I did not purchase anything nor will I in the future.OMG second time I've tried this bakery trying to support local but they are absolutely the most unfriendly and disinterested staff/owners I have ever encountered. Both occasions they are busy on their phones seated at the front windows, no offer of help...today the shelves seemed pretty empty I asked if they had French Bread the man turned and said No only by special order I make it no one buys it in a very stern voice.well news for you I would have bought one or perhaps you might have shown me something else....but no your phone was more important won't be back!
Heard from many many people to stay away from this place but I thought I'd give it a try anyways. What a mistake!!!Stale!!!!Gross!!!!
Edited after rude response from owner....Your responsible for your behavior in your own establishment towards your customers regardless of how your day is going, how your business is going or anything personal in your life. When you choose to be rude, to be on your phone, to roll your eyes at your customers for a request that customer reserves the right to write up a review. If you've ever been to any of the bakeries in Abbotsford or Fort Langley and actually have tasted their food, then you'd think the one star review was fair. Given your attitude as business owners, it should be minus a star. The fact you are still in business in this town isn't shocking considering the taste of pub food and fried chicken is all Mission seems to attract.Your food isn't good. It isn't worth paying for. It's homemade in the greatest sense of the word. Coupled with your poor service and attitude and how you've even responded to your poor reviews shows that you need to do better.Look at this as an opportunity to improve. Go prove me wrong. Go taste food from Saba and Blacksmith Bakery in Fort Langley. Go to Pastry Portal, Duft and Co, Old Hand Coffee in Abbotsford. Then go eat your food.
